Overview
About Digital Platform
Technology can help child-safety learning and resources reach more people consistently. The SSGT Digital Platform is the planned digital layer of the framework, intended to support learning, resource access and coordination between implementation partners.
The platform is being planned. It is not currently an operational service, and it is not, and will not become, a substitute for trained professionals, statutory services or emergency response.
Intended audience
- Schools and educators accessing learning materials
- Parents and caregivers looking for verified resources
- Implementation partners coordinating programmes
Purpose
To provide privacy-conscious digital tools that make learning and resources easier to access and help partners implement the framework consistently.

Forms the core of the digital layer.
School layer
Intended to give schools consistent access to materials.
Systems layer
Intended to support coordination between partners within agreed governance.
Implementation considerations
- Features will be introduced in stages and clearly labelled as available or planned
- Design will follow privacy-by-design and data-minimisation principles
- Accessibility and usability testing will be part of development
Safeguarding and privacy
- The platform is not a case-management system and will not be used to record or assess individual child-protection concerns.
- It does not include an AI assistant that offers advice to children.
- Sensitive information about children will not be collected without a clear lawful basis, appropriate consent and strong safeguards.
An educational and preventive tool
Digital Platform supports learning and preparedness. It does not replace statutory child-protection authorities, emergency services, qualified professionals or a setting’s established safeguarding procedures.
